So I haven't blogged in awhile. But just wanted to put it out there in the world that I'm really sad Prince died yesterday. Still not sure of the reason. His music was really an integral part of my childhood. I have a lot of memories linked to his songs...same with Whitney...same with Michael..same with Madonna... These songs were my youth. The videos were always exciting to watch when MTV was fairly new and all about videos. So in a way it feels like part off my childhood has died. Prince always fascinated me..strange, talented, artsy. Sexy? But more feminine like? Name, no name. Anyhow, I wanted to pay my respects. Yesterday Spike Lee had a singalong block party up in Fort Greene as a tribute to Prince. Strangers all walks of life coming together. That's what music is all about.
